Exchange 2009

Dr.M’z Youth Forum will be heading for France in August,

 Thanks to “The Lefevre Trust

Dr Mz Youth Forum will have an experience of a life time thanks to a grant received form the British Council’s Lefèvre Trust.

French Flag The idea of an exchange came about from our youth led forum. The young people themselves discussed and explored various countries, themes and activities. The group also recognised that they would need to learn French to increase their confidence to participate in an exchange project with France; the group have agreed to give up their free time to participate in French OCN accredited language lessons.

This exchange project will provide our young people with the opportunity to travel outside of their county and country and at the same time develop new skills and friendships which will help empower both groups and build on their confidence, self-esteem and quality of life by broadening their horizons and providing them with something positive to participate in. The exchange will also give young people an insight into the culture and traditions of other cultures.

Carmarthen Youth Project is a registered charity and without the support of funders and trusts like the Lefevre trust we would not be able to maximize our young people’s potential. The Lefevre trust will move our charity youth project into the 21st century.

Part of the short fall will be covered by TK Maxx recent generous donation!! Staff and young people at Dr.M’z would like to thank the Lefèvre Trust and to everyone that has kindly donated money to Dr.M’z at Carmarthen’s TK Maxx Store.
