Exchange 2011 Celebration

On Thursday 11th Aug we had a celebration of The Spanish Youth Exchange which recognised the achievements of seven young people who went to Spain on a multi-lateral exchange in July. 35 young people from Wales, Lativia, Czech Republic, France and Spain were involved. The young people worked together to achieve outcomes of wider skills development, enhanced emotional competence and active participation. The young people developed strong relationships with the different communities and cultures and look forward to reuniting in furure years. The group now have friends all over Europe. The young people of Dr.M’z celebrated there achievements in the celebration evening infront of their community. All participants have enjoyed the experience and have all taken away a lifetime worth of memories.

Band Rehearsal Space

Carmarthen youth project are please to now be offering band rehearsal space.

Our new Community Music Venue is fitted with a PA and can now be hired to young bands for practicing and performing.

If you are in a band and the avarage age is under 25 you can now use this space for as little at £15 for an evening.

If you are intrested in using the hall or music rehearsal or for holding a gig get in touch today.

At Dr Mz we have lots of computers and young people ready willing and able to show you how fill the form in.

Tuesday 29th April – Friday 3rd March

2pm till 6pm

Census Forms MUST be filled in. £1,000 fine if you don’t!!!

Plus the local council need to know exactly how many people live in Carmarthenshire because the money we get locally is based on these statistics. £600 will be lost, every year for 10 years, to CCC for every person not counted! So please encourage young people and those new to the area to fill the forms in!!
Tell anyone wary of giving their personal details – that this form is about statistics.
All the government get are the numbers – no personal details at all!!

Lantern Parade 2010

It’s that time of year again, the weather is getting colder and Dr.M’z are planing their Lantern Parade.

Thank you so much to every one who took part last year, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

This years lantern making session start this weekend!
We are holding them in our brand new center in Friers Park
Many will know it as the old Carmarthen Athletic Club, we now know it as The Club House (Dr.M’z)

We will be holding sessions on Sat the 13th and 20th from 1pm till 4pm
We will also be open during the week on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4pm till 6pm for people to have a go at making lanterns.

The parade this year will be held on Friday the 27th, meeting at Dr.M’z at 5:45pm

We really hope you can join us.
